Hello, everyone!

We started off this year with a bang! On September 20th, we held our annual HighlanderThon BBQ where we generated interest and spread the word around campus about what type of club we are. There were a lot of games, food, and a bouncy house that got people excited and interested in the organization.

In addition to the 39 new people who registered for our organization at the barbecue, we had two special guests from our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital come too - Taryn and Izzy! They both had so much fun bouncing in the bouncy house, making new friends, and in general having a good time at the event. They both have made such great strides and have come a long way since we last saw them in April this year. Only two years ago, Izzy had to use her walker to move around, but at the barbecue, she ran around without it and had a blast!

On September 22nd, HighlanderThon participated in NJIT’s annual club fair to spread awareness about our organization and draw new incoming members to our cause. In the two day span of our barbecue and the club fair, we had 75 people register to join HighlanderThon and join our fundraising movement for the kids.

We would like give a huge shoutout and thanks to Royal Entertainment for providing our much-loved bouncy house at the event and to NJIT’s very own Gourmet Dining Services for providing us with our food! HighlanderThon appreciates all of your support in helping provide and raise awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
